Oh my, are you kidding me?  What a huge YAWNFEST…Motu please tell me that’s not it!?  “Add Track Wizard’, ‘Automation Lanes’, ‘Spectral Display’, ‘Project Note Pad’ an ‘XML Notation Export’…seriously, that’s it??  I realize this video header says ‘some of the new features’ but I would imagine that if you had some insane additions to DP you would have wanted to show them off to the crowd there, possibly I am wrong. But if that is all the major enhancements obviously you are not paying any attention to the level of innovation coming from other DAW’s designers.  This is more like 8.04 than 9.0!  I’m sure there will be some DP fanboys giddy over this update but going by this video, how very disappointing.

all the guitar toys are fine, though not as good as the competition, but have you fixed the ‘pro’ verb yet? I still can’t save my convolution sets into my own user folders like I can with EVERY other convolution reverb on the market. this is an old existing problem since proverb first came out & one acknowledged by the US MOTU tech support. this is basic stuff and not very ‘pro’ at all – here’s the last that MOTU tech support had to say on the issue “I agree that folder parsing would be a good addition to ProVerb.  We may be able to do that with a future update”. If this has been addressed, then I may well stump up for DP9, though certainly not for any of the guitar or synth ‘updates’.

I know it’s not the program’s main aim, and I’m pretty new to it, so maybe I’m missing something, but I would LOVE to do more of my scoring IN DP.  The integration with notation and midi is really cool, but if there could be some clef options, bowing stuff, and that sort of thing, I’d be over the moon about it.

These DP9 plug-ins deserve to be highlighted in a much more modern (and musical) way than this…especially at NAMM. MOTU should have hired a group like Dirty Loops or Knower, to create the soundscapes for this 🙂

what about lanes for controlling different plugins? also… have you guys spent anytime making your plugins a little more comparable to UA? DP8’s plug ins were surprisingly still not that great especially the compression ones. However to get back… would be great if there were lanes for plugin automation. Maybe DP10?
