I wired up my very complicated guitar rack with a MIDImate and MFC10 footcontroller to switch between four amps and a ton of outboard effects. Took me an hour. I’ve been screwing with my SONAR control surfaces for TWO DAYS, time which would have been much better spent on music. I am trying a Novation Remore ZERO, my old Tascam 428, and even the controls on a CME keyboard. It would be awesome if just the transport worked like it should. Arg. Please let us map CCs to keyboard shortcuts.
And what genius decided that the key bindings would be best represented by NOTE NAMES?
the most complicated piece of crap I have ever laid my hands on .Two days!!! Is that all you have to complain about .How about two weeks leading to never!!!I took it back!!! Never will I buy another Roland product. Oh, and by the way ,Gaia sucks too!
good product.
knew nothing ’bout computers, recording or any daws until got sonar le 2/3 years ago.’til then just had a br. when you are new to it, it is all hard to figure out. had/still have probs with my puter not bein’ tough enough to handle sonar, but once i got a firm grip on it, was so sold, went /got x1 prod. take the time, it is worth it. i spent many hrs on phone w/support. still worth it.tried pro-tools and sonars layout is much more user friendly. soft synth out the yang.bang4bucksoffchartssnrroks
Sonar X1 works great on my pc. But I am using an external soundcard, so I don’t have latency issues.
EVERY THING is hard in sonar x2… I’m using magix instead … MUCH more user friendly. EVERYTHING is redicolously complicated. And roland are patetic when it comes to releasing new drivers… I need to learn from my own mistakes and stop buying stuff from roland. PS, don’t buy any other products from roland either, unless you want to spend hours and days trying to get them to work, even with other roland products.. Roland seriously need to get their act together. NOT GOOD ENOUGH! SHAME!
for those who think they can just plug in cakewalk into your keyboard without learning how it all works are deluded. patience will be rewarded, it is NOT that hard! if you just wanna do prefab stuff, perhaps you need to look elsewhere, like magix, etc… due some research on DAWs and MIDI before griping, and make sure you have a good audio interface, they start cheap; my $30 behringer works just fine…
I have a delay on the MIDI shit… FUCK
What ever hapened to the 500 pro models, everytime i go to a music store, there aren’t any
i cant get my mpk 25 to play in sonar 8 studio tried following instructions but seem to not be able to work, now a few times it worked, but when i turn off computer after i save everything, it doesn’t work. i can see midi coming threw cause when i use my mouse on computer. and press the button on my softsynth (example drop zone) i can hear it but when i press the pads or keys on the akai mpk25 it will not play. what am i doing wrong, im ready to create. is it the midi controller or is it that i have sonar, cubase, and studio one on my computer witch all of the programs are doing the same thing. i am new at this and would like to learn. but just cant get my controller to do right. need help
I got my first midi keyboard on my windows 8, I have sonar LE and when I plug my midi into my laptop and go into my my preferences and into my devices and I have nothing into my input I have never done this before so I don’t know if that’s normal, you have multiple inputs. I have nothing to check in the inputs somebody please enlighten me
Hi!
Thanks for the vid.
But what if the sonar doesn’t detect my controller at all?
It’s an Akai LPK 25 keyboard fully installed but it doesn’t appear in the “controller / surface” list you can see at 1:45.
Thanks
anybody else having a time with this tuts view rendering in full screen or theater mode? or is just me?
how to connect yamaha psr2100 to cakewalk……plz reply to my request
hi my name lucas ,i do have a pcr 800 i have no idea to conect the computer,
can you help me thanks
Two weeks of time wasting… Sonar cannot record my midi piano. No sound while playback. And no one was able to help. This program is way too complicated, you must be some computer genius to use it.
why the fuck are you assuming i know what a control device or midi is if im looking up for getting started videos. triggeredd
I have Sonar Home Studio and trying to get going with this but the first snag I have is that ”Options’ isn’t shown as per the video so cant find the Midi Devices icon…where would I find this please?
RIP Sonar… A crap decision Marshall. We are disappointed.
